storyline
When Lola has to move to a new village, her familiar world falls away.
She misses her friends, her old room, everything she knew. But in the basement of her new home, she finds a mysterious box from Mexico, from her late grandmother Valentina.
Through the magic of the box, Lola and her new friends Floor and Danny are drawn into Calaveraland, a wondrous world connected to the Day of the Dead, where ancient spiritual powers called CALASVNX protect the balance between worlds.
But the Malavera’s, peculiar creatures that can be as funny as they are frightening, are hunting for three sacred amulets that could tear both worlds apart. Through Valentina, Lola learns that real courage doesn’t mean you’re afraid of nothing, it means you keep going even when your heart is pounding. And that the greatest strength is not in an amulet, but in yourself.
Calaveraland is more than an adventure. It is a warm invitation to children to discover how love is stronger than fear, and to feel: I am stronger than I thought.
“Goodness, intention and the strength of spirit are no metaphor. They are the natural law of the story itself.”
